Traditionally, a mezcal tasting cup is a jicaras, or small cup made from the bark of the jicara fruit. The wide mouth of a jicara cup allows the alcohol to evaporate, leaving room for the full expression of the mezcal. Artisan glass blowers out of Guadalajara created this tasting glass shape that mimics that of a jicara cup. They are supposed to be a bit wobbly on the bottom and each shape is a bit different to mimic the variety of shapes a jicara cup can come in.
