Nur Ceramics Habba Vase

A vase inspired by the traditional grain pounder, an oversized mortar and pestle used to turn grain into flour. Finished in a textured white glaze, custom-blended and sprayed by hand.

Carved wooden grain pounders are still passed down through generations in Nubia, where bread made from pounded grain (habba in Arabic) was an offering to Isis and Osiris.
